Apples, Apples everywhere!!
Our theme for the month of August was apples and we learned a lot about them. The children did a lot of apple themed art and craft projects like making an apple tree with toilet paper rolls and construction paper. They painted the toilet paper roll brown for the trunk and did finger painting for the apples.
For our cooking project they made apple doughnuts for which they spread frosting on a slice of apple and then put some sprinkles and enjoyed their healthy doughnuts!
We did an apple tasting project, where all the children tasted a red, green, and golden apple and chose their favorite apple. Surprisingly after creating our graph, the favorite apple of the classroom was the green apple. The children also learned the parts of an apple, we cut the apple to show them the stem, skin, meat, core and seeds.
